PRODUCERS from across two states saw Brangus bulls sell to $14,000 to average $3914 at last week’s Triple B Brangus Sale, Dingo. Vendors, the Barlow family, Triple B Stud saw their seedstock and commercial product sell to all parts of Queensland and New South Wales.
Demand for commercial Brangus heifers rose on last years values hitting a top of $1150 per head to average $911/head average. Guest vendors, Ben and Wendy Mayne, Texas Angus Stud, Warialda, NSW sold six Angus bulls to a top of $4500 on two occasions to average $3429.
Sale topper at $21,000 was the 24-month-old, Triple B h257 (AI). The 768kg, 126 EMA with a final EBV of +49 by US semen import, of TCB Catawba Warrior R532 (US) selling to John and Sue Joyce, Dalkeith Downs, Gracemere. Next best was another by Warrior, H217 (AI) selling to Ray Vella and family, Stoodleigh, Marlborough for $12,000. The two-year-old 732kg entry joins the other Vella purchase, the 26-month, $10,500, H584 (AI) (ET) (Csonka Of Brinks).
Ross Olive, Westgrove, Westwood selected four for Hacon and Sons, Buckingham Downs Station, Boulia for a $3375 average. Top of the Buckingham Downs draft was Texas Angus entry for $4500. Another to return was Craig Wight, Jellinbah, Blackwater selected five for an average $3400. Rob and Annie Donoghue, Baradoo, Bauhinia Downs claimed eight setting a $2813 average. Hylton Park Pastoral Company, Blue Mountain secured five for on average $3700. The Bella family, Oben Park, Nebo signed off on four to average $3250 while Barrett and Horsfall, Leichardt Creek, Home Hill took seven for on average $2643.
Pinetree Pastoral Company, Emerald selected eight for a $5313 average including the $8000, two-year-old, H304 (AI) (Doonside 568) . Tony, Sharon and Bryce Fernie, Boombah Stud, Dingo picked out the $8000 H544 (AI) (ET) (Csonka Of Brinks) (26-months). Saltwater Grazing Co., Primley, Armidale, NSW took nine for a $2945 average. The McIntosh family, Goomeri ended with six for a $3583 medium.
Graham McDonald, Laurona, Bloomsbury signed off on a line of 76 heifers for a $999.34 average topping at $1150. At the same price Aaron and Rachel Beck, Upper Ulam, Bajool took a pen of eight heifers.
Mal and Sue Burston, Broadlea, Clermont returned taking 16 to average $850/head. John and Sue Joyce, Dalkeith Downs, Gracemere selected a pen of six for $650/head.
